My photographs, multimedia, and print stories have appeared in a number of local and national publications including, NPR, CNN, New York Times, Huffington Post, Oakland Tribune, Santa Cruz Sentinel, Good Times Santa Cruz and the Alameda Sun.

I placed first in the United States Marine Corps Combat Correspondents Association Merit Awards for my series Wild Days and Nights (2010), and received second place for my series Coming of Age (2011).

I was deployed twice to Afghanistan, first from 2009-2010, and again from 2011-2012, with 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment. During my tours I participated operations Moshtarak and Eastern Storm.

While serving as a combat correspondent in the US Marine Corps from 2008-2012, I received training as a print and photo journalist through the Basic Writers Course at the Defense Information School, Fort Meade, Md., in the winter of 2008. I received further schooling in photography and multimedia creation during the Intermediate Photojournalism Course, in the summer of 2010.

I graduated the University of California, Santa Cruz with a Bachelors of Art in Modern Literature. I currently work as the visuals intern at NPR. I worked as a photo intern at at the Santa Cruz Sentinel (2013), as a reporter for the college newspaper City on a Hill Press (2007-2008) and as a news intern at Good Times Santa Cruz (2008).

National Geographic Channel - Eyewitness War televised series

A National Geographic Channel production made entirely from the footage of US service-members serving in Afghanistan. Below is a short promotional trailer of the episode that fellow Marine Corps videographer, Cpl. Charles Mabry, and I were featured in.
